Really comfortable from the first wear and they stand up to yard duties really well. Warm in this weather but not too hot in summer either. Great value for money

  2. Chloe

Love my Clydesdales, worn them every day for work over the last year, seem to be very hard wearing despite me not doing much routine care with them!

This is my second pair of Clydesdale boots. (First pair lasted for over 10 years.) Comfortable, look good and perfect for the intended purpose of walking the dog across fields and around country lanes.

I bought these online to replace a pair I’ve had for over 15 years, which were worn regularly for riding, yard work and gardening. The old ones were extremely comfortable from the start and the soles were very hardwearing. It was only the result of them getting completely soaked through while pressure-washing a yard that caused problems cleaning the inner fleece and the nubuck became dry and flattened.
When the new ones arrived I was surprised to see the leather was hard and flat, not a soft and supple nubuck like the old ones. The fit around the ankle was much wider than the old ones and the top of the front of the boot rubbed into my lower calf causing sores. After much rolling and kneading of the leather and wearing thick socks doubled over, the leather became softer and more comfortable. The boots are now wearable although the fit is still very loose around the ankle. I can only assume that over time the company has changed to a different leather supplier who manufacturers a different fit.
Had I been able to get to a store to try them on before buying I probably wouldn’t have bought them.

Thank you for your feedback, our factory in Portugal hasn’t changed, but leather hides can vary and these do become more supple over time once “broken in” for most wearers these boots are comfortable from the start, they certainly would feel totally different from a pair “worn-in” for 15 years.
